Hymns Deconstructed

This Sunday is the final week of our four part series on the Hymns of our Faith. We will be finishing up the series with a look at some favorite hymns from the Celtic tradition, including Morning Has Broken (Genesis 1:3-5) and Be Thou My Vision (Romans 12:1-2)

After this coming Sunday, we will start a two week series on the Seven Deadly Sins / Seven Cardinal Virtues. Later in the year we will do a 4 week series on some of the parables of Jesus from a Jewish perspective, based on the book Short Stories by Jesus - The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi by Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies at Vanderbilt Divinity School.

Annual Fall Retreat

Our annual Fall Retreat is less than four weeks away! Mark your calendars for 2-4 October at Holston Camp. Our theme this year will be Faith and Food as we explore the role of food in the Jewish and Christian traditions and in our own spiritual and physical lives, reflecting on different ethical and spiritual concerns from global and local hunger, to farming, to our own dietary choices. Find more details, and register and pay online at www.trpctn.org/retreat or fill out a registration form in the narthex and return it to Kimra. Deadline to register is Sunday, 27 September.

Bennie's Recital

Join us for Bennie King's annual piano and organ recital this coming Sunday, 13 September at 4:30pm. Reception following in the fellowship hall.
