Buying That Pearl...

Jesus compares the kingdom of heaven to a merchant in search of pearls. Recall that, for Jesus, the kingdom of heaven is predominately something we seek in this life, not merely a thing for which we wait in the next life. What does our personal and corporate journey with the Creator have to do with a merchant seeking a pearl? Join us Sunday as we explore Matthew 13:45-46 and another of Jesus' enigmatic parables.

Fall Cookout and Hayride

It's time for our annual Fall Cookout and Hayride, hosted by the Goodrich family (815 Old Lane Rd., Mosheim). We'll have food and fun for the whole family, and wrap up the evening with a hayride through the area, pulled by licensed tractor driver, Billy Goodrich, winner of the Bristol Speedway Tractor 500. Billy has an excellent track record on hayrides, losing less than 17% of riders along the way. The festivities begin at 6:00pm this Wednesday, 21 October. Come join the fun!

• Samaritan's Purse: Shoeboxes (Dollar General has great plasic boxes for $1), and money for shipping the boxes ($7 each)
