The Book of Job
This Sunday we will be taking a look at the book of Job. This is another book that doesn't get much lectionary exposure, but part of the reason for that may be that it's difficult to pick out small sections of Job that are readable in a Sunday. Instead, the book tells one story with a lot of the dialog presented in verse. The nutshell version is that Job deals with the question of why the righteous suffer, but the real interesting parts of Job come in the dialog between Job and his friends, and between Job and God. We will not be reading all 42 chapters of Job next Sunday, but will be looking at sections from chapters 38-42. If you want to read ahead without committing to the entire book (which really is a great read!), then take a look at chapters 1-2 (the prologue) and then chapters 38-42, which comprises the closing dialog between Job and God, and the epilogue. Join us for worship Sunday at 10:45 or come early and join the conversation over coffee and donuts at 9:30 as we explore Job 38-42
